Leila Gurruwiwi (she/her) is a multi-talented individual with a diverse range of skills and expertise. She is a proud Yolŋu woman, originally from Galiwinku on Elcho Island in North East Arnhem Land, who grew up on Dja Dja Wurrung Country (Bendigo, Victoria).
She is a media personality, a captivating presenter, a talented actor, a cultural ambassador, and a knowledgeable mentor. Leila’s passion for raising awareness, embracing cultural heritage, and fighting for a more inclusive and united society is truly remarkable. She is an inspiration to all, particularly in her tireless efforts to create a safe environment for minority groups.

Leila Gurruwiwi is an Indigenous Support Worker dedicated to helping schools foster a culturally safe environment for Indigenous students. Through her work, she aims to inspire passion for Indigenous culture in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students and staff. Leila’s talents have seen her perform in productions such as KAGE’s Team of Life, ABC’s Secret River, and Glitch. As a Master of Ceremonies, she has hosted various events across Victoria and interstate, and she also serves as a cultural awareness speaker in schools around Melbourne. Additionally, Leila is a former mentor with the Deadly Sista Girlz program at the Wirrpanda Foundation, where she guided young Indigenous girls in schools across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
